Why is the “ADOLESCENT” age called the “CRITICAL PERIOD”
Human beings develop across the lifespan. However, studies have shown that there are two critical periods of growth spurts that are often referred to as the “Critical Periods” of development for various reasons. Adolescence is widely recognized as the stage of development that occurs between childhood and adulthood and is characterized by the onset of puberty as well as unique neurobiological, social, and cognitive development.
